(NASDAQ: NATI) and NYU WIRELESS recently announced that NI has joined the NYU Tandon School of Engineering University Research Center as a member of the Wireless Industry Consortium. Members of the organization will work together to solve industry-defined problems and advance research in next-generation wireless communications.
Back in 2012, NI and the NYU Wireless Research Center had a successful collaboration on 5G technology. Now, we are joining forces again to work with industry consortium members on new wireless technology research. one of the goals of 6G is to further expand the capacity of the overall network. As a member of the industry consortium, NI's participation is focused on terahertz (THz) frequency research, exploring underutilized spectrum and solving problems associated with it to help 6G communications get results. In addition, NI will be granted access to a wide range of research results as well as faculty and graduate students who continue to push the boundaries of spectrum research.
The NYU Wireless Industry Alliance program provides an important avenue for industry and academia to collaborate, enhancing the advancement of competitive advantage research and laying the groundwork for future wireless communications networks.
"We have a history of successful collaboration with the NYU Wireless Research Center in the 5G space, and are pleased to be working together again to accelerate the development of next-generation wireless technologies," said Charles Schroeder, NI Technology Fellow, "Terahertz and Pacihertz frequencies remain 6G critical technologies, which are urgently needed to be explored and researched. We look forward to providing prototyping and testing solutions to help our customers innovate and bring 6G ideas to life."
NYU's Center for Wireless Research is one of the world's leading research centers in the field of telecommunications, providing an important and solid foundation for the development and construction of all 5G wireless networks worldwide. The NYU Center for Wireless Research provides its industry consortium members with access to internationally recognized research, a high-quality engineering talent pipeline, and members-only technical workshops and related events.
NI is committed to advancing next-generation wireless technology standards and is actively involved in research on topics such as joint communications awareness, artificial intelligence and machine learning, terahertz/pacihertz, and extreme MIMO. New York University's Center for Wireless Research is one of several research collaborators with whom NI works to advance next-generation wireless technologies and the development of wireless test hardware and software. In advancing wireless technology, NI remains committed to our Engineer Ambitiously™ mission to advance 6G research before 6G standards are finalized.
