Industrial big data real-time collection, storage and machine learning technology is developing rapidly, NI becomes an important driver

"According to IDC's previous EMC Digital Universe study, only 5% of big data is analyzed on average," said Cui Peng, NI Industrial IoT Industry Marketing Manager, at the recently held 2017 NI Industrial IoT Summit Forum, comparing to the total amount of big data of 22 × 2 60 bytes, 5% is like the tip of the iceberg.

As a new asset, resource and production factor, industrial big data is the core of the Industrial Internet of Things, but also an important strategic resource for the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry.

To solve the challenge of big analog data, NI believes that the first step is smarter measurement. As a special guest of the NI Industrial Internet of Things Summit, Prof. Jie Li, a professor at the University of Cincinnati and the director of the U.S. Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems, believes that the future trend of data collection will focus on three aspects:

Expansion from the visible world to the invisible world; in the future, data collection will originate more from the invisible world;

Expansion from fixed to wireless mobile, with autonomous wireless sensors, for example, becoming the mainstream of future data collection;

Expanding from physical characteristics to information characteristics, the future of data collection will not be limited to the current measurement function, but will also have the function of identification.

To further explore the value behind industrial big data, in addition to measuring and analyzing the data process must be "intelligent", NI believes that there is a need for smarter data management. Therefore, NI put forward corresponding solutions from point to point and brought a number of new products: LabVIEW NXG; SystemLink, distributed system management software emphasizing remote data management; NIInsightCM™, enterprise-class distributed online monitoring software for monitoring asset health to make operation and maintenance plans; and the latest CompactDAQ Ethernet machine supporting TSN function. CompactDAQ Ethernet chassis with TSN support were unveiled at the forum.

LabVIEW NXG, featuring fast measurements, instant insights, and optional programming, not only enables innovation in measurement automation by introducing a redesigned editor that bridges the gap between configuration-based software and customized programming languages; it also further expands LabVIEW's openness to incorporate a wider set of languages to dramatically improve programming productivity, with the intention of starting a benchtop measurement The revolution of benchtop measurement.

Meanwhile, it has become an industry consensus that the accompanying time-sensitive network (TSN) standard will accelerate the construction of industrial IoT platforms. NI is actively helping to define TSNs and integrating them into the CompactDAQ platform - introducing the cDAQ-9185 and cDAQ-9189, which will enable long-range precise synchronization, and dramatically simplifies customer installation and system management of high-channel-count distributed systems.

The launch of a series of heavyweight new products is only a "point" solution for NI to address the field of industrial big data and industrial Internet of Things. And the solution from point to point and through the whole is NI to software definition as the center of the platform design method, Cui Peng unfolded to introduce:

NI hopes that based on the LabVIEW platform, through the desktop portable measurement equipment, CompactDAQ, PXI modular instrumentation, CompactRIO and other equipment and embedded system design solutions to help customers realize the industrial big data and industrial Internet of Things around the development of the segmentation of the application, such as industrial measurement, on-line condition monitoring, intelligent testing and so on. The consistency and flexibility of the hardware and software platforms can help customers accelerate the development process and reduce time-to-market. --By Cui Peng

As Prof. Li said, "The next generation of Industry 4.0 revolution is actually an intelligent revolution of knowledge." Professor Li believes that if we were to divide Industry 4.0 into 3 stages, "the first stage is based on computerized information systems, using the results of big data analysis to make people smarter; the second stage is how to make the combination of man and machine to produce value-added; and the third stage is the most important, which is to use the experience of one's own knowledge-based society to help other societies to do balanced development. "

Landing on the 3 major stages of the Industry 4.0 revolution, NI knows clearly that it can not rely on its own strength, therefore, based on the NI platform solutions, NI also focus on building its own ecosystem in the field of industrial Internet of Things, this time invited to speak to the PTC is one of the ecological partners of NI. According to Cui Peng: "NI, in conjunction with PTC and Hewlett Packard, provides Flowserve's customers with the best equipment asset management and real-time status monitoring solutions." As a known leader in manufacturing, Flowserve provides end-to-end support for some of the most advanced heavy equipment in the industry. As such, Flowserve is always looking to utilize the latest in online monitoring technology to help its customers reduce downtime through predictive maintenance.

 "Based on LabVIEW and CompactRIO to capture sensing data such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, vibration and power, Flowserve pumps can achieve raw data rates of up to 2.5MB per second, while the system sends this data to PTC's ThingWorx analytics engine, which makes it possible to see on the dashboard all of the energy consumption indicators that need to be The system sends this data to PTC's ThingWorx analytics engine, so that all the energy consumption indicators to be monitored can be seen on the dashboard, as well as early warning alerts of faults, which is very helpful for specialists who need to maintain hundreds or thousands of devices," added Cui Peng.

NI has earlier collaborated with IBM to develop a cloud-based distributed data acquisition system and a condition monitoring and predictive maintenance test platform based on LabVIEW to help companies find better ways to manage legacy assets and extend the useful life of equipment in heavy machinery, power generation, process manufacturing, and a variety of other industrial sectors. NI's software-centric open platform for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance test platform to provide machine learning possibilities, and in-depth cooperation with IBM, not only for the operation of technology (OT) and information technology (IT) to provide excellent interoperability, but also in the cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT) technology and the deep integration of the industrial system to achieve industrial data analysis and value mining.

In addition, localizing global advanced manufacturing experience, NI is practicing the third phase of the Industry 4.0 revolution in multiple dimensions. To help China's manufacturing to bend the road and promote Made in China 2025, NI not only provides a platform industrial IoT solutions throughout the product development and design, production and use of the life cycle, but also from the following 2 points to start in-depth:

On the one hand, NI strengthens the cultivation of local partners and actively builds a local ecosystem: for example, Beijing Tianze Zhiyun, who was also invited to give a speech this time, is NI's partner in the field of PHM. Based on NI's platform-based system design, Tianze Zhiyun customizes and develops end-to-end solutions for customers in the field of industrial IoT, helping Chinese industrial customers realize real-time health management and predictive maintenance of industrial equipment;

On the other hand, NI actively localizes international advanced experience: NI's close cooperation with the Industry 4.0-Smart Factory Laboratory of Tongji University to establish the NI Industrial Internet Laboratory is one of the many cases. Based on NI's rich engineering experience in data acquisition, equipment condition monitoring and other fields in the Industrial Internet of Things, the two sides will also work together to establish a new model for exploring smart manufacturing industry-academia-research cooperation and Sino-foreign cooperation.

Ltd. is a NI alliance, agents, system integrators, mainly NIGPIB, NILABVIEW, NIDAQ, NI boards, NI data acquisition cards and other products. The company has a full set of hardware and software for product testing should be run solutions, the development scope includes ICT, Boundary Scan, functional testing, system testing.
